We were saddened to hear of Msgr. Cilinski's passing. Msgr. Cilinski was a special friend to my parents, Mary and Joe Godbout and our family when he was Pastor at St. Philips. He officiated at my Mom's Wake and Rosary in 2005 and passed away one month after my Dad. My sympathy goes out to the Cilinski family and the religious community of the Diocese of Arlington.
God Bless,

We were away, so did not find out of your passing until afterwards.
You counciled me as a child, tried to teach me to drive. (you were too fast for me) You tought me the real meaning of God with us.
In 1962 you married us and in the following years baptized 2 of our children.
You were a favoriate friend and priest of my parents, which made you a member of the family ( an older brother).I remember at the river you were in stitches when our dog returned home after encountering a skunk. You decided you had an urgent task to do and did not return until "Tippy" smelled more liked a dog.
I will always be sad that I could not say good bye, but I know you are smilling and reliving old times with all your friends. If I ever need you, all I have to do is call your name and I know you will be there listening.
You are a friend that everyone needs. I love you and you will be missed for a very long time.
God has you in good hands and we know your spirit will never die. You have given it to too many of us to ever be forgotten.
Love and many beautiful memories from Richmond,
Catherine Jones

I was saddened to hear that Msgr. Cilinski passed away. My husband and I met him when he was in Waynesboro, Va many years ago. He became a good and loyal friend to my family over the years. He would always call on my birthday and wedding anniversary to wish us the best and share some humorous comments. He was there for our 50th wedding anniversary and we were with him on his 50th anniversary in the priesthood. He will be missed, but not forgotten!

Msgr. Cilinski was a dear friend of ours. He officiated at our wedding at Saint Philip's July 4th 30 years ago and would call us every year to wish us a happy day. His quick wit, kind words, and Christmas greetings will be missed and remembered.

We will miss Msgr. Cilinski greatly at VHC. When the stairwell door opens I still look with anticipation hoping to see be Msgr. Cilinski making one of his many visits to our patients. He was a tremendous resource for patients and staff alike. He was kind, compassionate, unassuming, and gracious.
My deepest sympathy to the Cilinksi Family.
Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May he rest in peace.

Sympathy to Msgr. Cilinski's family and fellow priests. God blessed us with a wonder man of God and he served us all so well. He surely will be missed. I didn't know Msgr. during his years at St. Philips, but he is still fondly remembered by many parishioners

Msgr. Cilinski,
Thank you for all the wonderful things you did for me and my family over the 40+ years we knew you. You were always there when we needed you with a prayer, a hug, and a joke. You will be greatly missed, but we will hold your memories in our hearts forever. May you now rest in pease with God.

Msgr. Cilinski was a remarkable friend and comfort to my parents, Thomas and Mary Whitaker, and to the rest of our family. His kindness, patience and humor in and out of his hospital ministry will always be remembered. We have lost a comforter but gained a model; may he rest with the Lord.

Msgr. Cilinski was very special to both of our families having known him from his St. Philip's days. He was a very special priest and his ministry to the sick will always be remembered. He was so good to our mother when our father died and also to us when our mother passed 2 years ago. We will never forget him. Eternal rest grant to him and may perpetual light shine upon Msgr. Cilinski

I was saddened to hear of his passsing. Msgr. Cilinski has been a friend of the family forever it seems. It is equally hard having lost my mother 2 months ago. I will keep his memories with me for the rest of my life... Serving as an alterboy under him, working in the rectory in the evenings, his coming to the rescue when the priest who was supposed to officiate at my wedding fell ill, his soothing words when my father passed, the time he took to personalize Christmas cards to my mother... and many many more...
Peace be with you and yours.

Msgr. Cilinski was a dear friend of my late parents. He celebrated their 50th and 60th wedding anniversaries, married my ex-husband and I and baptized our daughter. He also concelebrated the funeral masses of both my parents. Afer their deaths last year he phoned the family every week to check up on us. He will be greatly missed.
