I had the great pleasure of working with Mr. Hyler in the years following his retirement. I managed a small auto repair shop, and Mr. Hyler was a friend of the owner. On many, many occasions "Spud" came to our rescue with his vast knowledge and great mechanical skill. What a wonderful man.

Kathy,
I am sorry for the loss of your father. I want to thank you for the opportunity to care for him and get to know him over the last months. He brought great joy to me and always a smile on my face. He was a special person. We will miss him greatly.

Fred was a man of character. When he came to Clifton Forge years ago to stay with his Mother on weekends we would get together and talk about the old days over a hotdog and a cold coke.
I wish he could have been closer so we could have visited with him in his time of need but we'll all be close again soon.

To Lori and Kathy,
We didn't get to know Uncle Fred the way we should because of distance. We know that you guys have been through alot losing your Aunts/Sisters, your Mom and now your Dad. You have our sympathy. The first note from Lori this morning touched our heart.

Uncle Fred was a giving and caring man who took care of his Mom while she was living. For many years he paid her drug bills and slipped her some extra money to help make her life easier. He checked on my Mom and Dad and after my Dad (Charles) died he continued to call and come "home" to check on my Mom. He left his mark on our family with his funny laugh, his strange sense of humor and his love for coffee and my Mom's cakes. My sympathy to you Lori, you've had so many losses. God bless you and give you strength.
