NORWOOD, Jimmie Lou Campbell, died August 18, 2009. No wife or mom was ever more loved than Jimmie Lou. She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Colonel James Norwood; two sons, Barry and James Norwood Jr.; one daughter, Lieutenant Colonel Cynthia Norwood; one grandson, James Norwood III; two granddaughters, Pryce and Galyn Norwood; two sisters, Charlsie Caywood and Dianne Bushnell; two brothers, Thomas and Julian Campbell; and hundreds of beloved friends and family. She was preceded in death by her father, James Campbell; and mother, Annie Hanchey Campbell; sister, Kathleen Harper; and a brother, Fred Campbell. Jimmie Lou was a member and volunteer for 25 years at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, The Bellwood Women's Club, The Daughters of the American Revolution, the USS Montague AKA 98 Reunion and the Antique Study Group. She also loved to travel. Jimmie Lou was the quintessential Army wife, moving over 30 times in 15 years. She was deeply loved by everyone and touched many lives with her joyous personality and laughter. A memorial service will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, August 22, at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 815 E. Grace Street.
