Catherine O'Hanlon Obituary

O'HANLON, Catherine T., of Mt. Pleasant, S.C., passed away on August 13, 2009 at the age of 93. Born on June 30, 1916 in Brooklyn, N.Y., to the late Maximilian and Anna (Beringer) Neutzel, she married her husband, James A. O'Hanlon, on July 22, 1939 at St. Andrew's Church, Flushing, N.Y. Her husband passed away on April 5, 2000. She was an avid Bridge player and a long-term volunteer for various charitable and educational organizations which include: The LSU Medical Center, Shreveport, La. (Meritorious Service Award), Our Lady of Consolation Residence, Amityville, N.Y. (Diocese of Rockville Centre, N.Y., Merit Award), Sister Margaret's Food Pantry and Clothing Closet of Shreveport, La. Survivors include her son, James P. O'Hanlon and his wife, Angela J., of White Plains, N.Y., and Viera, Fla.; her daughter, Sheila A. Smith and her husband, Ray, of Charleston, S.C.; six grandchildren, Angela C. Tinnirello and her husband, Christopher, Christine G. Bonchick and her husband, Michael, Michael Thompson and his wife, Rosary, Patrick J. O'Hanlon and his wife, Stephanie, Craig Thompson and his wife, Jeanne, and Erin Thompson; nine great-grandchildren, Angel Rose Tinnirello, Gabrielle Tinnirello, Liam Thompson, Brendan Thompson, Sarah Bonchick, David Bonchick, Leah Bonchick, Dashiell O'Hanlon and Beckett O'Hanlon. Also surviving are numerous godchildren, nieces, nephews and loyal friends for whom she had a ready and willing ear. Predeceased are her three sisters, Mamie, Cunigunda and Margaret. Memorial services will be celebrated at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, White Plains, on Saturday, August 22 at 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Susan G.
