Mary Helen Nolen

NOLEN, Mary Helen, 77, of Suffolk, Va., passed away peacefully on her birthday, August 28, 2009. She was born in North Carolina and raised in Tidewater, Va. She was a proud and loving mother of six children, Lenny Nolen, Kathy Ayers, Danny Nolen, Teresa Williams, Mary Hall, and Janet Jones. "Nana" sadly leaves behind 12 grandchildren, Nicole, Daniel, Scott, Steven, Ryan, Ashley, Lynette, Crissy, Emily, Chelsea, Greg, and J.D.; also six great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Kali, Taylor, Christian, Lucas, and Aden; brother, Jim Wilkie; and best friend, Peggy Speight.. Nana's hobbies were oil painting, cooking, and spending every moment she could with her family. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Bliley's - Staples Mill, 8510 Staples Mill Rd., and where family and friends will gather after 9 a.m. on Wednesday for a procession to the 11 a.m. graveside at Roselawn Memory Gardens.
