EVAN, Karen Ann, age 56, of Chesterfield, Virginia, passed away on Thursday, September 3, 2009. She was born in Wayne, Michigan, daughter of the late Godfrey Stanek and Constance Kristock Stanek. Mrs. Evan retired from Philip Morris after 21 years of dedicated service. She was a loving mother, wife, and grandmother who dearly loved her granddaughter. Mrs. Evan is survived by her husband, Theodore "Ted" M. Evan Sr.; son, Theodore "Todd" M. Evan Jr. and wife, Rebecca, of Hanover, Virginia; granddaughter, Claire Evan; sister, Freya Smallwood and husband, Dennis, of La Hoya, California; brother, Joseph Stanek and wife, Kim, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; and numerous friends and other family members. Funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718. Dear Ted and Family, I knew Karen through my sister Nancy Emig. We had some nice visits and laughs when we were in VA. Karen has been in my thoughta and prayers since I first heard that she was sick. She was a lovely person. Take care of yourself and your family.

Ted, and family, I am so sorry to hear of your loss.

I knew that Karen was sick. She was a very dear friend & coworker in Gen Acct @ PM. We shared many good times & laughs together! She will be greatly missed by all! She will always be alive in all of our hearts! She left a mark on all that she came into contact with!

My thoughts and prayers will be with you in the coming weeks and months!!
