JACKSON, Barnett Carwile, 87, of Richmond, passed away on August 31, 2009. He was born September 7, 1921. Mr. Jackson is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Beverley Beadles Jackson; two sons, Barnett Carwile Jackson Jr. and John Hunter Jackson; two daughters-in-law, Marilyn Johanna Jackson and Lyn Ellen Jackson; three grandchildren, Thomas Theopolis Jackson, Gina Lyn Jackson and Alexander Carwile Jackson; and two brothers, Baxter William Jackson Jr. and Robert Bolling Jackson. Mr. Jackson was predeceased by his parents, Baxter William and Olive Mae Carwile Jackson; and a sister, Princess Jackson Taylor. He was a World War II veteran, serving in the Navy as a Sea-Bee until he was honorably discharged in 1946. He subsequently worked as a field engineer and design draftsman at Virginia Electric and Power Company for 36 years. He also served on the Board of Directors for Richmond Ready-Mix. Mr. Jackson was a charter member of Chamberlayne Heights United Methodist Church. Viewing times are 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on September 9 at Woody Funeral Home, Route 301 and Shady Grove Road. The funeral service will be held at Chamberlayne Heights United Methodist Church on September 10 at 2 p.m. Mr. Jackson will be buried at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
