My Margaret was my baby sister. I could share many stories of our happy childhood, our wife/motherhood years and then our mature years. I know the best is yet to come. We'll see one another again where we will have no more pain or sorry. What a time that will be!!

Margaret and I met in grade school and became friends, but we became closer friends in our early teen years. I had a lot of issues, one being low self-esteem and Margaret and her mom were always encouraging me and building me up, but not candy coating a word that I needed to hear. We lost track of each other several years ago, so I have been really thinking about our past relationship and how much she meant to me and all that she did for me. I would have never applied for civil service employment if it hadn't been for her encouraging me. She even went out of her way to give me rides to work at the naval base, until I was able to buy a car. I could go on and on, but I see from the other memories written that she never stopped caring and loving people. We were really blessed to know her.

If you ever needed someone to talk to, if you ever needed a hug, if you ever needed a friend, if you ever needed someone to speak the truth to you even though it might not be what you really wanted to hear-- it was Margaret. She was my auntie-- my suragate mother- my best friend- she was my someone special. I loved her with all my heart and it sure feels like it is breaking. There will always be an empty spot in my life now that no other can fill-- she will be missed more that words can ever express. I love you dear sweet auntie!!!!

I knew Margaret when I started at MLL, in fact she was the one who hired me. Margaret was a great mentor, advisor, colleague, and (I would like to think) friend. She will truly be missed. Thank you so much for sharing her with us.

Even though I only met Margaret one time, we have someone great in common--Jeffrey. I'm the "other" grandmother and know that she meant a lot to Jeffrey! He was blessed by her life!
