GIBSON, Edward Cecil Sr., 95, of Chester, went to be with the Lord on September 14, 2009. Mr. Gibson was a native of Big Stone Gap, Va. and a U.S. Army veteran of WWII. He was a retiree from DuPont in Richmond. He is survived by his three children, Edward C. Gibson Jr., William S. Gibson and Emily A. Gibson; a brother, Glenn Gibson; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, September 18, 2009 in Sunset Memorial Park, Chester. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday (tonight) at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, with the Reverend Dr. John W. Daniel officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Zuni Presbyterian Home, 5279 Homegrown Lane, Zuni, Va. 23898. Condolences may be registered at www.ealvinsmall.com.
