Carlene Margaret Lloyd

LLOYD, Carlene Margaret, 81, of Richmond, Va., passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by loved ones on Wednesday, September 23, 2009. She was born on July 4, 1928 to Elsie and Carl Holmes in Johnstown, Pa. She is survived by sons, Ron, Greg and wife, Terry; daughter, Carlene Goodman; sister, Millie; four grandchildren, Michelle and husband, Seth Graham, Cpl. James D. Goodman USMC, Jared Goodman and Jamie Lloyd; dear friend and sister-in-law, Helen Lloyd; along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Sadly she will miss the birth of her first great-grandchild, Thessaly Grace Graham. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 44 years, Franklin Lloyd; mother and father; sisters, Lois, Doris, and Mary Lou; and brother, Carl. Carlene's remains rest at Bliley's Funeral Home, 6900 Hull Street Road, where family will receive friends Sunday, September 27, at 1 p.m., with a memorial service at 2 p.m. Friends are invited to join the family after the service at her home to continue the celebration of her life. In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial donations be made to the Hospice Unit of McGuire Veterans Hospital, Richmond, Va., where she continued in Frank's footsteps volunteering to help other veterans. Interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery on Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at 1 p.m., where she will forever be with her devoted husband, Frank.
