PETTUS, Will, of Keysville/Farmville, age 35, passed away on September 23, 2009 in Middlesboro, Kentucky. He is survived by his father, Willie Pettus; his stepmother, Ellen Pettus; stepsister, Maria Knight. Will was a 1990 graduate of Rustburg High School, received a BS degree in Agriculture from Ferrum College, and a BS degree in Anthropology from Longwood University. He taught at Appomattox Middle School and at Prince Edward High School. He has worked as a Field Archaeologist and with the Student Conservation Association. The family will receive friends at the Browning-Duffer Funeral Home in Keysville, Va. from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday, September 26, 2009. The funeral will be held at the Drakes Branch Presbyterian Church on Sunday, September 27, 2009, at 4 p.m., with interment in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Charlotte County Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 330, Keysville, Va. 23947. The Browning-Duffer Funeral Home of Keysville, Va. is in charge of arrangements.

It is hard to think of Ferrum without thinking of Will or "Frog". I am praying for the family. Will is missed greatly! Will was an awesome friend and person, the world is at a lost without him but heaven has had a great gain!

Will was my friend. The kindest most giving person I have had the pleasure of knowing. He will be missed greatly by myself and everyone who were lucky enough to have known him. Will has found a warm spot in my memories and will make me smile for years to come.

I am very sorry about Will . I remember him when he was a little boy coming to Church .Then he taught my son in FFA . He was so nice to everyone and very caring. He will truely be missed .

I did not know Will, but his father, Mr. Pettus was a teacher of mine in High School and was still there at RHS when both of my girls were there. I am so sorry Mr. Pettus. I am keeping you in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
