Gladys "Gaga" CALLAWAY

CALLAWAY, Gladys "Gaga" Cook. Mrs. Callaway, age 88, made her home with her daughter, Betty J. Womble and A. Wray Womble in Matthews, N.C. She passed away Wednesday, September 23, while in the loving care of the Harris Hospice unit of Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte, N.C. Formerly of Richmond, Va., she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Callaway; daughter, Patricia Edwards; and grandson, Scott Edwards; mother and father, Martha and Briscoe Cook of Pineville, W.Va; siblings, Calvin Cook (Betty), Douglas Cook, Buell Cook, Pauline Cook, Charles Privett and his son, Mark Privett. The oldest of 10 children, she leaves behind siblings, Kermit Cook (Lucy) of Dillwyn, Va., Leola White of Ruther Glen, Va., Beatrice Brown of Brenton, W.Va., Shirley Jacobs (H.G. Buddy) of Mechanicsville, Va., and Micki Privett of Highland Springs, Va. She is survived by grandchildren, Steven Edwards (Pam) of Colonial Heights, Va., David Wilson (Laura) of Chapel Hill, N.C., Kimberly Lea of Houston, Texas, and Laura Mayes (Nicholas) of Charleston, S.C.; great- grandchildren, Daniel, Brian and Trey Edwards; and a host of nephews and nieces. Celebration of Life services will be held 12 noon Saturday, October 3, at the Mausoleum Chapel, Westhampton Memorial Park, Richmond, Va. The family visitation will begin at 11:15 a.m. Reverend Won Un of Highland Springs United Methodist Church will preside. Music will be performed by Amanda Hinman.
