Alfred H. MILLER Sr.

MILLER, Alfred H. Sr., affectionately known as "Jack," entered into eternal rest on Monday, October 5, 2009 at Bon Secours Memorial Regional Medical Center. He was born December 14, 1931 to the late Percy and Florence Miller. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters. He leaves to cherish his memory eight children from the union with Islene Miller - Walter Hieskill, Shirley Watson (Franklin), Alfred Miller Jr. (Rena), Janice Robinson (Freddie), Jo McKnight (Ricky), Timothy Miller, Pamela Blowe and Michael Miller; two additional daughters, Alexandra Dittrich and Jakita McFadden; three sisters, Florence Hieskill, Rosetta Crump and Brenda Chapman (Leroy); one brother, Robert "Jake" Austin; one aunt, Mary Jackson; 15 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, a host of nieces and nephews; two lifelong friends, Blount Tunstall and Andrew Bagby; and many other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Walter J. Manning Funeral Home, 700 North 25th St. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 10, 2009 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Mechanicsville, Va., Rev. Paul D. Flowers Sr., pastor, officiating. Remains will lie in state one hour prior to services. Interment Quantico National Cemetery, Triangle, Va. Tuesday, October 13, 2009 11 a.m.
