Donald Johnson Obituary

Johnson, Donald D. CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. Donald D. "Don" Johnson, 74, of Tanner Rd., beloved husband of over 50 years to Eileen L. (Heenan) Johnson of Clifton Park, entered into eternal life with his family at his side on Sunday, March 30, 2008 at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady. Born in Cohoes on February 28, 1934, he was the son of the late David E. and Rosemary Jarvis Johnson and was a graduate of Waterford High School. Mr. Johnson was a US Marine Corps veteran, having served in the Korean War. He retired after 33 years of employment by Robert VanPatten, Sr. Builders in Clifton Park where he had been supervisor of maintenance. Following retirement, Don couldn't stay unoccupied and became employed again as manager of Buildings and Grounds for Exit 8 Enterprises in Clifton Park. He was a communicant of St. Edward the Confessor Church in Clifton Park, had been a volunteer and manager at Elnora Little League and had also been a Cohoes Auxiliary Police Officer. Beloved husband since August 11, 1957 to Eileen, he was the devoted father of Julianne Davis and her husband Mark of Ballston Lake, Margaret A. Newman of Niskayuna, Donna A. Johnson of Clifton Park, Kimberly A. Johnson and her fianc? Michael Colino, both of Glenville, David E. Johnson and his wife Linda of Latham, Robert E. Johnson and his wife Christine of Gorham, Maine and the late Colleen Anne Rogers; cherished grandfather of Jessica Joralemon, Donald K. Nedeau, III, Erica M. Davis, Patrick Newman, Philip Rogers, William Newman, Christopher M. Davis, Danielle and Michelle Johnson, Riley, Braeden and Griffin Johnson; and adored great-grandfather of Anthony, Liam and Lillian Joralemon. Mr. Johnson was predeceased by two siblings, the late Frederick A. Johnson and Barbara E. Dawson. Funeral will be held on Wednesday at 9:15 a.m. from the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 Route 9, Clifton Park, thence to St. Edward the Confessor Church in Clifton Park, where at 10:00 a.m. the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. Interment with military honors will be held in St. Mary's Cemetery, Waterford. Memorial contributions may be made to the Saratoga ARC, Clifton Park Day Habilitation Center, 495 Clifton Park Center Rd., Clifton Park, NY 12065, in memory of Donald D. Johnson. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted by the family to the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 Route 9, Clifton Park, NY 12065. 518-371-5454.

I was sad to hear that Mr.Johnson passed away. He came through my line on register 5 in Price Chopper, i always use to ask him how he is doing and how is Eileen and Julienne
