Jeanette Green Obituary

Green, Jeanette F. (Reinisch) SELKIRK Jeanette F. Green, 86, of Selkirk, passed away on April 19, 2008 after a brief illness. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who oversaw her family in the deepest sense. Born and raised in Albany, she was a graduate of Phillip Schuyler High School where she met the love of her life Edgar Green. Her husband who predeceased her, was a longtime insurance salesman for the Prudential Insurance Company. They resided on Elm Avenue and raised four quality and productive children. She was the daughter of the late Andrew and Helen Reinisch and spent endless and fulfilling summers at their camp on the banks of Lake Champlain. She was predeceased by her brother, Melvin and sisters, Helen and Luella. Jeanette had a passion for her entire family. She enjoyed catering to her family as exhibited by her preparation of Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners for her family for the past 60 years. Survivors include her son, Richard (Linda Plumb) of Selkirk; and daughters, Judy Tucker (Tom) of Ravena, Sue Babbitt (Edward) of Orwell, Vt. and Beverly Gifford (Mark) of Jefferson. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Burial services will be held at the convenience of the family. A memorial service honoring her life will be held at the Babcock Funeral Home on Sunday, April 27 at 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Mohawk & Hudson Humane Society.

Rich, "Jud", Sue & Bev.....Just got the word that my favorite "Grammie Green" passed....No one can ever "fill her shoes". I remember my early days in the 1970's living next door to Judy and Tom. What fun we all had....canning tomatoes, picking strawberries, making grape jelly (remember mine got full of carpenter ants). She did so enjoy life and her family but now she joins "Pop" and the rest of her family that pre-deceased her. I will never forget your mother....What an inspiration she was and enjoyed life to the fullest....May she rest in peace..God Bless All Of You...Fondly "Annie" Wilsey
