To Gaston, Tashawn, Latoya, Emerald, and GrandKids.

I would like to share this poem with you, and as I read it; all I can think of is Auntie. This poem represents her true and true. God Bless you all.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

Cathy-

I miss hearing your voice. Faithfully, I would always hear, "Where's Mommy?" Your kindness and generosity will always be remembered...You never forgot my Birthday. The examples of faithfulness, giving, kindness, stewardship, and love that you bestowed to Family and Friends is a model and will not be forgotten. Despite the demands of work and life, not once have you ever told me "no" when I called asking for a favor. For Mommy, you were her "right hand" and she is lost without you.

There are no words to truly express the unexpected loss. To The Cancer & Tarver Family: May you find comfort in prayer.

Remember

Remember me when I am gone away,
Gone far away into the silent land;
When you can no more hold me by the hand,
Nor I half turn to go yet turning stay.
Remember me when no more day by day
You tell me of our future that you plann'd:
Only remember me; you understand
It will be late to counsel then or pray.
Yet if you should forget me for a while
And afterwards remember, do not grieve:
For if the darkness and corruption leave
A vestige of the thoughts that once I had,
Better by far you should forget and smile
Than that you should remember and be sad.

Ma cathy,

Words can't express how I feel with you not here. You were a mother to me. Not my mother by blood, but by love. I will have you on my mind and in my heart daily untill we see each other again. I dont know what to do with myself because we were with each other every day cracking jokes, cooking, or just hanging out on the steps. Every time somebody would beep the horn at us we would both wave and then look at each other and both say "who was that!!" You are a angel now, so I will see you when I make it there. I love you!

Aunt Cathy........

You were such a sweet young woman
who had such a beautiful soul. You left me with the gift of happy memories, one that I will never forget
is when I brought Quay home from the hospital to your house on third St and she use to be cranky and cry all night long, you said give me that baby and you tied a black string around one of her ankles to make her stop crying.(one of the Tarver's old fashion remedies)And how can I ever forget all the cookouts we had at my house on Delaware Ave to celebrate you and Quay's birthday. My daughter Quay was blessed to be born on your birthday and you left us the day before my son paris birthday.
Most of all I will never forget every time I would see you,you would say, Hey sexy moma I'm gonna miss that.. Cathy you were a sweetheat.......
Love your niece Tay.......

Aunt Cathy ( My "CHUNKERS"),

Ooh where to begin? My heart is just flooded with emotions. I miss you soo much. It took me sometime to get some thoughts together. We are ALL devastated and sad. Our only comfort is knowing that you are with our Heavenly Father in God's arms and safety. I know you are looking down on all of us,and individually you have a special message for each of us.
If I had known that that Sunday was the last time we would see you and joke with you, there would have been soo much I would have said. I will miss your phone calls (having me ebay shopping lol) who am I gonna blame all that on now?? Soo soo many memories... Thanksgiving and the platter contest.... our Black Friday Shopping, and you getting us in trouble for taking soo long...( the pokie ones)...Your baked ziti and lasagna cooked to perfection and the Signature Round cakes!!!

Your laughter echo's in my heart and I will cherish the memory of your smile.

Friday nights at Grandma Nan's will never be the same!!

I love you and miss you!!

Your niece (your lil chicky)

I have so many things to see and do.
You must not tie yourself to me with tears
Be happy that we had so many years I gave
you love, you can only guess
how much you gave me in happiness
I thank you for the love each have shown
but now it is time I traveled alone.
So grieve awhile for me if grieve you must,
then let your grief be comforted by trust
It is only for a while that we must part
so bless those memories within your heart
I will not be far away, for life goes on.
so if you need me, call and Iwill come.
Though you cannot see or touch me, I will be near
And if you listen with your heart, you will hear
All of my love around you, soft and clear.
Then when you must come this way alone,
I will greet you with a smile and "welcome home"

May God Bless You In Your Time Of Need

Little did we know that morning that God would
call your name. In life we loved you dearly, in death we do the same.
It broke our hearts to lose you, you did not go alone. For part of us went
with you the day God called you home. You left us peaceful memories,
your love is still our guide. And though we cannot see you, you are
always on our side. Our family chain is broken and nothing seems the same.
But as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again.

To the family ~

It is easy to say she is in a better place. The problem is it makes our place a little harder to bear knowing she is no longer here. Yet in all God gives us His grace and He is willing and able to fill that empty space. Just look to and lean on Him and He will keep you standing and moving forward. You are in my prayers.

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there, I do not sleep
I am thousand winds that blow
I am the diamond's gift of snow

I am the sunlight on ripened grain
I am the autumn's gentle rain
When you awaken in the morning's
hush
I am the swift uplifting rush

Of quiet birds in circled flight
I am the soft stars that shine at night

Do not stand at my grave and cry

I am not there

I did not die

While sitting back reflecting on days gone by, I can't help but to remember how much fun we would all have just sitting around laughing and kickin it, I can vividly recall that very infectious laugh that Cathy had, which brings a smile to not only my face, but to my heart as well. Yes those were the "good ole days" but we can all rest assured that we will see all of them again on the other side, just as long as we believe in GOD and His Holy word, and always hold fast in our faith that all will be alright in the morning time.
I pray that the LORD will bless each and every one of you today, tomorrow and forever more.
Sincerely,

Shannon,Lamont,Shemar Metts

Our treasured friends,
God has chosen Cathy to walk amongst the angels in heaven. Cathy was like a big sister to me growing up, always looking out for me when we were in the same vicinity. I appreciated her for that. My family and I will certainly have your family and loved ones in our prayers. May God, the mighty comforter, be with you in the days to come. Cathy's spirit and love remains a blessed part of all of you...cherish her through your memories. God Bless.

When we lose someone we love
The loss seems too great to bear
God sends us friends to comfort us
To show that He deeply cares

But in the dark hours of the night
When there’s nobody else around
When we feel the saddest and loneliest
It’s there God’s love can be found

It’s like a soothing, healing balm
To soothe our broken hearts
The healing oil poured over us
That flows into every part

We can rest secure in God’s love
And know He’s by our side
He holds us when we feel as though
A part of us has died

We can know that God will listen
When we just want to talk
And when we feel we need to cry
We can share it with the Lord

For He is always waiting there
Ready with arms open wide
As we pour out the hurt within
He pours His love inside

Our Father above loves us so much
And will never leave us alone
He will not forsake us in our need
To face this on our own

He comforts us and strengthens us
And rubs us with His balm
And as the dawn breaks through the night
We’ll awake in His loving arms.
