Stasia Jakubowski Obituary

Jakubowski, Stasia A. NISKAYUNA, N.Y. Stasia A. Jakubowski, 90, of Niskayuna, and Union, N.J., died peacefully on April 9, 2008 with family at her side. Born Stasia A. Hudzik in Sunderland, Mass., she lived most of her life in Newark and Union Township, N.J. before taking up residence in Niskayuna with her son and family. Prior to her retirement, she was manager of an ARA/Slater school cafeteria in Union and previously an assistant manager of an H.L. Green store. She was a longtime communicant of St. Stanislaus Church in Newark, N.J. and participated in a number of civic and volunteer organizations. She was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Stanley M. Jakubowski. She is survived by her three sons and their wives, Michael S. Jakubowski M.D. and his wife Gisela of Niskayuna, Dr. Theodore A. Jakubowski and his wife Bernadette of Union, and Stanley S. Jakubowski and his wife Ellen of Lansdale, Pa.. She is also survived by her eight grandchildren, Susan Jakubowski, Stanley Jakubowski and his wife Claudia Whalen, Christian Jakubowski, Michael F. Jakubowski, Michael W. Jakubowski and his wife Kristin Connors, Brian Jakubowski, Katherine Jakubowski, and Allison Jakubowski. A brother Stanley Hudzik of Peoria, Ariz. also survives her. A funeral Mass was celebrated on April 14, 2008 at St. Michael's Church in Union and interment in Hollywood Memorial Park in Union. Local arrangements were made by Jones Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Ellis Hospital Foundation, P.O. Box 1015, Schenectady, NY 12301-1015.
