Joseph Gaumond Obituary

Gaumond, Joseph P. GUILDERLAND, N.Y. Joseph P. Gaumond, 81, passed away on Monday, June 23, 2008 after a lengthy illness. He was born in Lisbon, Conn. and lived in Guilderland for most of his life. Mr. Gaumond was a U.S. Army veteran, serving his country during the Korean War. He worked for General Electric Company for 29 years before retiring. Joe was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Conn. and was district deputy and past grand knight at the Knights of Columbus Council #3357 in Guilderland. He was also a member of the V.F.W. Post #1493. Mr. Gaumond was a master gardener with Cornell Cooperative Extension in Albany. Joe is the beloved husband of 48 years to Janet Gaumond. He is the devoted father of Phyllis J. Gaumond of Schenectady and Janet M. Sisson of Carlyle. He is the brother of Rose Fauxbel, Marie Tremblay, Delia Gaumond and Louis Gaumond. Also surviving are four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Friday morning at 9:15 at New Comer-Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.) then to Christ the King Church at 10:00 a.m. where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be Thursday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions would be appreciated to the American Heart/Am-erican Stroke Association, Heart Gifts Processing Center, P.O.
