Janet Maclean Obituary

Maclean, Janet Isobel DELMAR Janet Isobel Maclean died June 24, 2008. She was born January 19, 1925 in Brooklyn, but was raised in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. She was the daughter of James Henry Malcolm and Ethel Gertrude Ryckman. Mrs. Maclean attended McMaster University in Toronto and later worked as a lab technician. She married Hugh Norman Maclean in 1949 and moved several times while in Canada due to her husband's teaching posts. Their last move was to Delmar where they lived for 36 years. Mrs. Maclean was predeceased by her husband in 1997. She was the loving mother of Susan (Edmund) Buda of Niskayuna, Alan Maclean of Albany and the late Margaret (deceased at age eight from meningitis.) Janet did volunteer work for the American Red Cross for a number of years, and later at the Child's Hospital gift shop. She loved swimming, reading, bird watching, and trips to the Cape. Funeral service Sunday 4:00 p.m. at the New Scotland Presbyterian Church, 2010 New Scotland Road, Slingerlands. Contributions in her memory may be made to the City Rescue, 259 S. Pearl Street, Albany, NY 12202 or to the charity of one's choice. See website.
