Sophia Driscoll Obituary

Driscoll, Sophia BETHLEHEM Sophia "Peggy" Bealler Driscoll, 95, of Beverwyck Lane, died Wednesday, June 25, 2008 at her home. Born in Panama, Peggy resided there for the first eight years of her life. She spent most of her life in the N.Y. area, retired to Fla. for 27 years and had lived the past nine years in the Albany area. She worked as a registrar at the New York Botanical Garden in the Bronx for 10 years, retiring in 1976. She was an avid bingo player and loved crochet, singing and dancing. Her family was the most important thing in her life. Wife of the late Francis Xavier Driscoll, she was the mother of Mary Mazzucca of Saratoga Springs, Martha Santicola (Ronald) of Lanesville, N.Y., Catherine Mulley of Loudonville and Francis X. Driscoll of Windham, N.Y.; sister of Lillian Broderick of Port Charlotte, Fla.; grandmother of Catherine McGrath (George), P.J. Mazzucca (Mary), Daniel Mazzucca (Megan), Treven Santicola (Ronald Jones), Garan, Kyra, Abny, Shayan, Ian, Ryan and Caitrie Santicola, Cristen Hammel (Donald), Jacqueline and Timothy Mulley. She is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren and was predeceased by one great-grandchild. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:45 Friday morning at St. Kilian's Roman Catholic Church, 485 Conklin St., Farmingdale, NY 11735. Burial will be in the Long Island National Cemetery in Farmingdale at 2:00 p.m. Friday.
