Jerome Misuraca Obituary

Misuraca, Jerome J. COXSACKIE Jerome J. Misuraca, age 75 years, of Coxsackie, died July 1, 2008, at Albany Medical Center, Albany. He was born November 29, 1932 in Coxsackie, N.Y., and was the son of the late Jerome R. and Mary (Shaulis) Misuraca. During his lifetime, he was employed as a storekeeper for 33 years at the Coxsackie Correctional Facility. He was a communicant of St. Mary's Church and a lifelong resident of Coxsackie, living his entire lifetime on Riverside Avenue in Coxsackie. Mr. Misuraca was an outdoorsman, an avid hunter and gardener. He served his country in the United States Navy, serving from 1951-1959. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Judith A. Hotaling Misuraca of Coxsackie; three sons, Michael A. Misuraca of Texas, Mark A. Misuraca of Coxsackie, and James R. Misuraca of Texas; his daughter, Karen A. Keith of Va.; eight grandchildren, Nikia Misuraca of Pa., Michael Rings of E. Greenbush, Jamie Misuraca of Watervliet, Shannon Misuraca of Greenville, Mark Misuraca Jr. of Coxsackie, Joan Stilley of Va., Zachary Misuraca of Texas, and Nicholas Misuraca of Texas; also a great-grandchild, Dylan Misu-raca of Pa.; and many cousins; nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he is predeceased by his son, Jerome J. Misuraca Jr. and a sister, Virginia VanDenburgh. Mass of the Christian Burial will take place on Monday, July 7, 2008 at 9:00 a.m. at St. Mary's R.C. Church, Coxsackie, with Rev. Fr. John Moyna, pastor officiating. Interment will follow with full military honors in the family plot of the St. Mary's Parish Cemetery, Coxsackie. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend calling hours at the W.C. Brady's Sons, Inc. Funeral Home, 97 Mansion Street, Coxsackie, on Sunday from 3-7 p.m. The Coxsackie V.F.W. Post #10986 of which he was a member will hold services on Sunday evening in his memory at the funeral home. Contributions in his memory may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Upstate New York/Vermont Chapter, 6 Automation Lane, Albany, NY 12205. Envelopes can be obtained at the funeral home.
