Marion Fryer Obituary

Fryer, Marion B. ALBANY Marion B. Fryer, 87, went home peacefully Thursday, July 10, 2008 with loving family by her side. Marion was born in 1920 in Middletown, N.Y. to David and Mary Logan. She married Joseph G. Fryer in 1945 after waiting his return from World War II and five years of combat for our nation. Marion was the office manager of Dorsey Millwork from 1967 to 1985 and was a dedicated member of the West End Presbyterian Church. She was a corvette enthusiast, jewelry collector, and loved lighthouses. Marion's keen sense of humor, enormous heart, and generosity will be missed. Marion was predeceased by her parents and her husband, Joseph, and her niece, Joan Venard. She is survived by her cherished son, Joseph D. Fryer and his wife, Gail of Mechanicville. She is the enormously proud Nana of grandchildren, Ian and Morgan Fryer and Dr. Kendra Zappia (Graig). They will miss her meatloaf, ice cream sundaes, and hearing her colorful stories. Marion's family wishes to extend its sincere thanks and gratitude to the staff at St. Peter's, especially the 4th floor nurses, technicians, the Hospice Inn staff, and Dr. Mesmer, for the care they provided to Marion and her family. Funeral services Saturday at 9:30 a.m. from the McVeigh Funeral Home, 208 North Allen St., Albany thence to West End Presbyterian Church, Albany at 10:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Friday 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow the Service in Albany Rural Cemetery. Those wishing to remember Marion Fryer in a special way may send a contribution to A.L.S. at St. Peter's Health Care, 19 Warehouse Row, Albany, NY 12205.

Joe and family,
My condolences to you and your family, no one is truly gone when you carry the warm memories with you and every time she is mentioned or thought of it will be like she is still there. Its been 50 years since I moved next door to you, it won’t seem the same now knowing she is no longer there.
With my deepest sympathy, Dave

Dear Joe and family,
I am so sorry to hear of Marion's passing. Although I had not seen her for some time, we did try to keep in touch. I will always remember all of the good times we had together while working at Dorsey's.

Joe and family,
I can't believe she's gone. I sure did miss her smile every week. You were "THE BEST SON" and did whatever she wanted (and I know it wasn't always easy), but she surely adored you. We talked on the phone occasionally, but I'm so sorry I didn't get to see her. I too loved her and will miss her.
With my deepest sympathy, Barb
