Albert, Celia A. ALBANY Celia A. (Jones) Albert, 85, died Wednesday, July 9, 2008, at St. Peter's Hospital. A lifelong Albany resident, Celia attended the Albany City Schools and graduated from Albany High School. As a young adult, she worked in retail. Celia was a committed home-maker. At 55, she returned to work full time at the Albany Medical Center gift shop. Celia was a communicant of St. Teresa of Avila Church. Celia is survived by her husband of 64 years, Harold J. Albert; her children, Harold Albert Jr. and spouse Francis X. DeNicola of Worcester, Mass., Bryan Albert, Diane Albert and fiance Andre Krievs and Robert Albert of Albany; her grandchildren, Beth-Ann and Christian Landrum, Adam Albert, Kaylena Conte-Albert, Danielle Albert and great-granddaughter, Sadie Jayne Landrum. Celia is also survived by her sister, Irene Marciano as well as local nieces and nephews. Celia loved her husband and children and enjoyed local events, her home, mystery movies, visiting her family in Mass., traveling with her son Bryan's getaway tours and vacationing at the ocean. She especially liked caring for others, good food and conversation. She was outspoken and to the point. She was a true Irish Lass! Most of all, she cared for humanity, advocated for the mentally ill and demonstrated a strong Christian faith throughout her life. Celia idealized her husband, children and grandchildren. She worried, hoped and even prayed for their happiness, health and safety, never giving up on them even during their weakest of moments. During her final months, she expressed an appreciation for nature and a love of wildlife. A lifelong Catholic and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Celia will be greatly missed by her loving family. Our hearts will be longing for her eternal love until we unite once again. Friends and relatives may call at the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, 490 Delaware Ave., Sunday from 4-7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Monday in St. Teresa of Avila Church, 435 New Scotland Ave., Albany.
