Jeanne Piel

Piel, Jeanne SCHENECTADY Jeanne Palmateer Piel, 81, formerly of Rosa Road, died Thursday, July 10, 2008, at Kingsway Arms Nursing Center with her loving family by her side. Jeanne was born in Troy, N.Y., the daughter of the late Leo and Bertha Cornwell Palmateer. She was a loving wife, mother and grand-mother. Jeanne married Joseph E. Piel Sr. on March 1, 1953; he predeceased her on December 8, 1986. She was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Church and a former member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians in Troy. Loving mother of Robert Piel Sr. (Linda) of Berne, Joseph E. Piel Jr. (Maureen) of Scotia, Michelle Frisone (Frank) of Ballston Spa, Karen Diamond (Chuck) of Scotia, Donald Piel (Mary) of Glenville, Susan Padula (Vincent) of Schenectady, Kathleen Piel of Schenectady; also survived by 15 grandchildren; one sister, Gladys Roberts of Jonesville; one brother, William Palmatier of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by two sisters, Fay Ann Palmateer and Leona Cramer. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday morning at 9 at Our Lady of Fatima Church, Rosa Rd., Schenectady. Calling hours will be Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Jones Funeral Home, 1503 Union St., (at McClellan St.), Schenectady for those who wish to call. Burial will be in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna.
