Ingalls, Shirley B. NORTON HILL, N.Y. Shirley B. Ingalls, 77 years, of Norton Hill, passed away suddenly on Saturday, July 12, 2008 with her loving husband by her side. She was born March 13, 1931 in Oak Hill, N.Y., daughter of the late Alfred and Elizabeth (Griffin) Burnett. She graduated from Greenville Central School in 1948. She received a degree from Mildred Elley Business School. She worked as a secretary for GNH Lumber for many years. Shirley worked for 30 years in the U.S. Postal Office. The last four years, she was postmaster of the Norton Hill Post Office, before her retirement in 1992. Shirley was also very active in the Greenville-Norton Hill U.M. Church. She loved singing and sang in the church choir for over 50 years. She was a secretary/treasurer for the Greenville Fire District for many years. She also served on the Greenville Library Board. Shirley is survived by her childhood sweetheart and beloved husband of 58 years, Walter H. Ingalls; their children, Kaaren (Kurt) Haushalter, Kevin (Karen) Ingalls, Krista (Carl) Haushalter and Kay (Eric) Sutton. She was a devoted grandmother to Sommer, Jason (Lisa), Jacob, Laura (Tim), Rebecca, Aubrey and Walter and great-grandmother to Jacob Richard. Shirley is also survived by many nieces and nephews; and several dear cousins including Betty Gustavson and Sis Rasmussen. A memorial service to celebrate Shirley's life will be held on Saturday, July 26 at 2:00 p.m. in the Greenville-Norton Hill United Methodist Church in Norton Hill. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Shirley's memory to the Greenville Rescue Squad or the Greenville-Norton Hill U.M. Church.

To kevin, karen, sommer, jacob and the rest of the family,
Grandma ingalls was such a delight to know. I know that you will miss her very mucch and i was saddened to hear of her passing. My heart and prayers are with you all in this trying time. She was a pistol. And i think im going to miss her brownies most. But if there is anything i can do please let me know. I am very sorry for your loss. She was a great lady! It was an honor to know her.
