Anne Norris Obituary

Norris, Anne M. BRUNSWICK Anne M. Norris, 75, of Brunswick, N.Y., died peacefully on July 15, 2008 surrounded by her family. Born in Newfane, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Francis and Loraine (Bracken) Larkin. She was predeceased by her husband, John T. Norris in 1987. She was a graduate of St. Joseph's Academy in Lockport, N.Y., Buffalo State Teacher's College and Niagara University. Anne and John came to Troy in 1962, where they settled in Wynantskill. They moved to Brunswick in 1970. Anne taught throughout the Troy School District until her retirement from the W.K. Doyle Middle School in 1987. She was a member of NYSUT and New York State Retired Teachers. She was a member of the Troy Area Retired Teachers as well, where she served as secretary for several terms. Anne was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Troy, where she served as a Eucharistic minister. She is survived by her daughters, Anne (Frank) Daly of Latham and Mary (David) Machnick of Pittstown and her cherished granddaughters, Elizabeth and Katherine Machnick. Her brother, Franklin (Caroline) Larkin of Newfane; nieces, Julie (Richard) Cundra of Newfane and Mary Ann Larkin of Mar Vista, Calif.; and her sister-in-law, Mary Margaret Norris of Blaisdell, N.Y., all survive. The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Resta and the staff at New York Oncology Hematology (Troy), Linda, Carol and the rest of the staff at Community Hospice of Rensselaer County, the staff at Samaritan Hospital and Fr. John Yanas of Sacred Heart Church for their support during our mother's illness. A special thanks to Linda Purcell Rinella for her incredible dedication to the family during a most difficult time. Funeral services will be held Friday at 9:45 a.m. from Daniel D. Purcell Funeral Home, 510 Pawling Ave., Troy, NY 12180, thence to Sacred Heart Church in Troy, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Troy. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.

To Annie and Mary and family: I'm so sorry to hear about your mother's passing. So sorry I couldn't attend the wake. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you as I lost my dad 2 years ago and I know how difficult it is. You have each other and your families/friends to support you. Your mom enjoyed and loved you both so much - keep that memory in your thoughts.
