Donald Garey Obituary

Garey, Donald E. JOHNSONVILLE Donald E. Garey, 77, passed away Wednesday, July 16, 2008 at St. Mary's Hospital. Born in Mechanicville, son of the late John and Anna Duffney Garey, husband of the late Lena Ambersine Garey and father of the late Jack J. Garey. Don attended Stillwater High School, and was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He retired after a number of years from the General Electric's silicone products division in Waterford. Don enjoyed raising and racing homing pigeons for some time. Survivors include his brother, Jack J. Garey of Clifton Park; two great-nephews, Gary E. Tetreault Jr. and Ryan J. Tetreault, both of Chesapeake, Va.; his sister-in-law, Louise Ciuk of Hoosick Falls; his brother-in-law, Edward J. Tatro of Halfmoon; along with his little dog Sheba. In addition to his parents, wife and son, Don was also predeceased by his two sisters, Mildred Tatro and Jean Garey and his nephew, U.S. Navy LtCdr (Ret.) Gary E. Tetreault Sr. Funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. Burial in Hudson View Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements by the DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, Mechanicville.
