Cynthia Lyon Obituary

Lyon, Cynthia F. SAND LAKE Cynthia F. Lyon, 58, of Reid Way, died suddenly Wednesday, July 16, 2008 at St. Peter's Hospital Albany. Born in Syracuse, she was daughter of Robert Lyon of Columbus, N.C. and the late Ethel (Sanderson) Lyon. She was born and raised in Manlius, N.Y. and had resided in Sand Lake for the past 20 years. Cynthia earned her bachelor's degree from Eastern College in St. David's, Pa. and her master's from Syracuse University. She loved her career as a research librarian for the New York State Library in Albany for the past 20 years. She was a member of the American Association of Law Librarians and a past officer in the Association of Law Librarians of Upstate New York. Survivors in addition to her father include a brother, Douglas Robert Lyon of Columbus; two sisters, Mary (Donald) Lyon McCall of Myrtle Beach, S.C. and Lynnette Cathy Lyon of Sand Lake; a nephew, Scott Andrew (Paige) McCall of Charlotte, N.C.; a niece, Mindi (Michael) Zimmer of Norwalk, Conn. and a great-nephew, Andrew McCall. A memorial will be announced at a later date. Contributions may be made in memory of Cynthia F. Lyon to the Companion Animal Placement Program, 279 Troy Road, Suite 9, Rensselaer, NY 12144.
