Jeannette Galvin Obituary

Galvin, Jeannette M. COHOES Jeannette M. Galvin, 93, of Mann Ave., died Thursday, July 17, 2008 at St. Mary's Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Cohoes, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Marie Brunelle Dame and widow of James S. Galvin. Jeannette would have celebrated her 94th birthday on the 27th of July. Mrs. Galvin resided in the area all her life. She was an active member of St. Joseph's Parish in Cohoes and a member of the St. Ann's Society. She was a volunteer at Our Lady of Hope Residence in Latham and an active member of the Cohoes Senior Citizens Center. Jeannette is survived by her son, James P. Galvin and his wife Charline of Ghent. She is also the grandmother of Jennifer M. and Joshua P. Galvin and step-grandmother of Jennifer Green, Julie Lloyd and Nathanial Green. She is also survived by one nephew and two step-great-grandchildren. Funeral from the Stanton-Farrell Funeral Home, 326 Columbia Street, Cohoes Tuesday morning at 8:30 and at St. Joseph's Church, Congress Street at 9:00 a.m. where the Liturgy of Christian Death and Burial will be celebrated. Jeannette's interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Waterford. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday 4 to 7 p.m. Donations to the American Diabetes Association, 7 Washington Sq., Albany, NY 12205 or the Community Hospice of Rensselaer County, 295 Valley View Blvd., Rensselaer, NY 12144 in memory of Jeannette would be appreciated.
