Robert McBride Obituary

McBride, Robert P. STUART, Fla. Robert (Bob) P. McBride, 71 years old, died June 24, 2008 at Martin Memorial Hospital surrounded by his loving family following a courageous battle with cancer. Bob was born in Cohoes, N.Y. to Cecile (Duchesne) and John McBride. He graduated from Keveny Memorial Academy class of 1955. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He moved to Stuart with his family in 1973 from N.Y. and retired in 1996 after a successful career with BellSouth Telecommunications. Bob was a member of the Communications Workers of America, AFL-CIO, CLC, and 4th degree member of Knights of Columbus Assy #1764. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Helen (Brennan) McBride; his daughter, Robin (Russ) Pence of Denver, Colo., and son, John (Silvia) McBride of Miami, Fla.; the joy of his life, his grandsons, Brennan McBride and Grayson Pence; brother, Raymond (Harriet) McBride of Waterford, N.Y.; and 31 nieces and nephews and 32 great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Jeanne C. McBride Hills. A military service will be held at 3:00 p.m., July 25 at the Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Road, Schuylerville, N.Y. A reception will be held for family and friends in Clifton Park, N.Y. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Bob's name to the Robert and Carol Weissman Cancer, 501 Osceola St., Stuart, FL 34994.
