Dave, Joyce and David were our closest friends while we were in Saudi Arabia. They led the youth Swim Team for years, and were active in all types of community activies. Dave drove us to the "souks" to shop anytime we wanted without complaint. He was such a man eager to please.
Thank God for people like the Meron's. Dave (and Joyce) are missed terribly by us ~ daily. David had great parents to lead him and guide him - and hence has turned into a wonderful man. Linda, thank God that you had cherished moments with Dave ~ although brief. Our prayers for God's comfort go out to you now. I'm sure Dave is now in His Father's Mansion being told what a fine job he has done. Just keep him in your heart and you'll always find his smile/grin on your face. Love and deepest sympathy - Ray, Beth, Naomi & Ben.

I have known Dave all of my life as my "adoptive big brother". I will always remember as a child, him and Fran running for that Fire Siren and all the family things that were done with our two families. Remembering your cackle when you laughed and your squeaky voice will always keep you alive in my memory. You are in heaven now with all of your loved ones. But will be missed even more here. You were the truest of Americans that there ever was. And I am proud to have known you and been a part of your life.

I Love you Dave,

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

To the family of David P. Meron Sr., I would like to send my deepest condolences to you. For I am a Fire Police Officer with the Bennington Fire Department. I hate to hear news of one of my fellow brothers has left us. Please except my condolences. My prayers are with you.
I would like to end this with

"The Fire Police Prayer".

Almighty God our savior, whenever I am dispatched to serve my fellow man in times of need, I ask you,
To give me the strength and Guidance to be ever alert and to be consistant within the discharge of my duties,
To be ever mindful of the welfare and safety of all I have been sworn to protect and serve,
To be fair and impartial in the treatment of all persons with whom I come in contact,
To be courteous and never be profane in words or deeds while on duty,
To strive to always be proficient with the talents which you have given me, and to always have the willingness to serve.
And, if during my service to others in times of need, it is your will that I lay down my life, bless always, with your love and guidance, my family and those I leave behind.
Amen.

David was the best friend a person could ever have. He was also very proud of his son David jr and very proud to be an American. He loved serving the community. My heart just aches for this loss. He will be missed by many and by his friend of 50 years her life has a hollow spot in it now.

Thank you for the time you have given us. It is better said by Abraham Lincoln -
“And in the end it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years.”
