I met Pete when he lived in Montara and met him at a horse event in Golden Gate Park with the horse named Hobby which he gave to me when he got a big horse. Pete lived at Sunshine Valley Ranch and we had some good times together. He worked at Mare Island then. I met Angela and would love to hear from her and wonder if she remembers me. I visited Pete when he was in Healdsburg and worked on my car. I just found out that he had passed.

We still remember Pete often! Something will come to mind about him and we laugh. Pete was so inspirational and a mentor to me as my AA sponsor. He appeared at just the perfect time in my life! He brought me through some difficult times with laughter and love. My wife and I will always remember him fondly and will be forever grateful to him.

Dear Dad,
It's hard to belive a year has passed since you've been gone.
So much has happened since then, many accomplishments in which you would be very proud. Your grandchildren talk of you often and know that you have left an everlasting presence in their lives.
We think of you everyday and remember the words of wisdom you shared. But most importantly, the love that you gave unconditionally will always be in our hearts.
We can't say that we haven't felt sad or cried because you're not here. We think of the wonderful memories we shared with you to help us along the way.
We know you are watching over us all.
We miss you & love you...
With all our love,
Tina, Mark, Steven, Tommy, Katrina & Mackenzie

Pete loved life and lived large. He had big dreams, high hopes, and a big heart. Pete was always on the go, always helping others. He was multi-talented and could fix or build anything. Woodworking was his passion, and he took great pride in his work.
Pete rented a house on my property in Healdsburg. He was here 6 years - the last place he lived in California before Angela and Scott helped move him home. I always felt safe with Pete here, and he always helped out. He installed a woodstove and stone hearth (photo), he made a stone path (photo) so an elderly friend needing a smooth path could visit, he replaced the shingles that blew off one winter, he brought in blue shale for his driveway, he fixed many problems with the water system, and on and on. He was a rock in a crisis – unflinching and there to help. He spoke lovingly of his family and I knew in time he’d return home. Yet and still when he told me he was leaving I cried. The miracle is Angela orchestrated his move home just as he was to about to need his family as much as they needed him.
Pete seemed torn between being longing for freedom and longing for connection. I hope he found peace in his final years. I hope he found what he was looking for. He burned bright and hot. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Farewell Pete
All my sympathies go to Pete’s family for their great loss, with special thoughts to Angela and Scott whom I met, and Sara his beloved dog. Let the memories bring peace and comfort.

We must be steady enuff in ourselves, to be open and let the winds of life blow through us to be in our breath, our inspriation; to breath with them, mobile and soft in the limberness of our bodies, in our agility, our ability, as it were to dance and yet stand up right.
Peter Joseph Ruscetta was loved by everyone a strong man, a loving father and a great friend to all..

To Bonnie & Amy & all the Family ~
Pete was a veteran of many "wars." He fought them all bravely. Now, he needs to fight no more. His spirit will have peace. Now, it is up to us, the living, to carry on, for only then will his memory persist. May we all live as bravely as he fought and died.
