Lea Baruch Obituary

Baruch, Lea TROY, N.Y. Lea Gordon Baruch, age 88, of Hoosick Street in Troy, N.Y., died on Thursday afternoon, July 24, 2008 at the Albany Medical Center Hospital. Mrs. Baruch was born in a small town in "Iwie" in Belarus. Lea survived the Holocaust as a partisan fighting the Nazis. She was married to Sol Gordon until his passing and later widowed from Zalman Baruch. She is survived by two sons, Jack (Ricky) Gordon and Frank (Gail) Gordon and a stepson Israel (Sheila) Baruch; grandmother of Michael (Lauren) Baruch and Howard Baruch. She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Judith Ginsburg; nephew, Howard Ginsburg and Nati Amir as well as nieces, Riva Ginsburg, Fran Wolf, Sheri Mantzoor and Ina Sinitsky. She also leaves numerous great-nephews and nieces. Lea was predeceased by her brothers, Marvin and Bzalel Ginsburg and a sister, Freida Nimon. Services at the Beth Tephilah Cemetery, Spring Avenue, Troy on Friday, July 25, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice. Lea was a loving and deeply loved human being. She was devoted to her family and friends. She loved the United States and was deeply devoted to her religion. Lea was truly a Woman of Valor and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
