Elizabeth Kirmss Obituary

Kirmss, Elizabeth DELMAR Elizabeth (Betty) Kirmss, 87, of Delmar, N.Y., died on July 22, 2008 at Good Samaritan Lutheran Health Care Center after a short illness. Born in Salamanca, N.Y. on February 26, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Francis (Fleming) Cunningham. Betty was raised and schooled in Cattaraugus, N.Y. by a close family of dear grandparents, an uncle and aunt. Although she worked occasionally, she mostly spent her early adult years as a homemaker, wife and mother. In later years, she enjoyed retirement in Florida and worldwide travel with her husband Alfred. She was predeceased by two husbands, Philip Stanfa and Alfred Kirmss. She is survived by three sons, Alfred W. Kirmss and wife Vinni of Coeymans Hollow, N.Y., Charles S. Stanfa and wife Carol of Mansfield, Mass. and John P. Stanfa and wife Joan of Denver, Colo.; 11 grandchildren, Nancy, Christine, Darryl, David, Christopher, Lauren, Andrea, Margaret, Damian, Richard and Nicholas; and 15 great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to a funeral service on Saturday, July 26 at 10 a.m. at White Haven Cemetery, Pittsford, N.Y. Contributions in her memory may be made to either the Good Samaritan Lutheran Health Care Center, 125 Rockefeller Rd., Delmar, NY 12054 or the Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit, 57 Hurlbut St., Albany, NY 12209.
