Willy, Pam and family,

You have been in my thoughts and prayers since last week. Understanding how difficult this is, my heart aches for all of you. Willy, you have inherited many of your dad's wonderful qualities. Let those qualities guide you through life and your dad's wonderful memories warm your heart. When you are out walking on those trails, he will always be there to guide you.

To the Ray Family,
My prayers and thoughts are with you in this time of great loss. I feel privileged to have known you all while I was growing up. We had some fun times together and I always had a special respect for your dad (husband, grandpa, uncle) , a very kind and gentle soul. May the Lord envelop him now in mercy and love and grant a heartfelt peace to each of you.
God bless you.

To the Ray Family,
I am so sorry for your loss. A wonderful man will be greatly missed. He has touched so many lives and has given us so many memories. My mom and I still talk about the time Mr. Ray brought me home from the playground with two broken arms from a fall I had taken from the big slide. Our prayers are with you all at this time.

My deepest sympathies to the Ray family. I grew up with Vinny and Marty and played tennis with Mr. Ray and Mr. Goodlow (when they felt like giving us kids a lesson). They taught us sportsmanship and respect and led by example. At our last reunion, we stopped by Jack's house to say hello and we were lucky enough to spend a couple of minutes chatting with him about the old tennis days. He was a great man and will be missed.

Mrs. Ray, Robby, Marty and the entire Ray family,

I am so sorry for your loss. I have many memories of your husband/ father at church, high school basketball games, the tennis courts and the many ways he participated in our community.

I especially remember him taking care of the Ray Funeral Home, having grown up around the corner and riding my bike or driving my car by many times. He would always wave hello.

I said goodbye to my maternal grandparents and most recently, my Mother, at the Ray Funeral Home. I will be thinking of you tomorrow as you say goodbye to your husband/father, as it was six months ago tomorrow that I said goodbye to my Mother. Losing a spouse/parent is hard at any age.

With sympathy,

Dear Florence and Family, I was so sorry to hear of Jack's passing. You folks were always the epitome of family, community, church and so many more things to people who would admire you from afar. A memory which just is such a picture of the person Jack was,is once when we were playing tennis on the little school courts and our daughter Becky who was probably 7 at the time was upset because the older kids and her parents weren't playing with her, indignantly said, alright I'm going to get Mr Ray, he'll play with me! She trotted off to knock on your door (Much to our surprise) and asked if Mr Ray could come out and play with her!...and out walked Jack with his tennis racket! None of us will ever forget it! He was such a wonderful man! All our prayers and sympathys to you and yours!

To John, Moira & John Andrew and Mrs. Ray & family,
My sincere sympathy to you. Mr. Ray was a real gentleman! I offer you my prayers, and this verse of comfort from the Irish prayer that says, in part...grieve not, nor speak of me with tears...but laugh and talk of me as though I were beside you, I loved you so, 'twas heaven here with you.
With affection, Ginny Ryan

I was so sad to hear of your loss. I too have many fond memories of Mr. Ray on the tennis court, but mostly I remember him as being a rock-solid pillar of our little village. Mr. Ray was one in a million, and will be missed greatly by all.

Dear Flo and family: What good memories of a great man. Bert remembers Jack as a third baseman for the Sacred Heart softball team. Then Jack was very patient while beating us on the tennis court. It took Bert ten years to catch up to him! Always a gentleman, Jack was certainly someone to look up to (literally as well as figuratively)! He will be missed.

Jim and family-
My prayers are with your entire family at this time of great loss. I think of your father on the tennis court (his serve toss seemed to go up a mile!), at church or consoling others in their losses - and I remember a kind, gentle man respected by all. I hope your many wonderful memories of him will eventually ease your pain and heal your hearts.

Dear Mrs. Ray and Family,
I was very saddened to learn of Mr. Ray's passing. I have so many memories of him that they are too numerous to mention. The one that stands out however is Mr. Ray and Mr. Goodlow playing tennis on Sunday mornings in their white tennis shorts at the Campbell Avenue courts. Whenever Mr. Ray would hit a good shot, you would hear Mr. Goodlow say, "Beauty, Jack, Beauty".
Mr. Ray was in a league of his own, a wonderful, wonderful man.
I am sorry for your loss. Thoughts and prayers are with you all.
Sincerely,

maria kleinhans
