Madelyn Beezer

Beezer, Madelyn GUILDERLAND Madelyn Okarma Beezer died Thursday, July 24, 2008 at the Community Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany. Born in Newport Township, Pa., she was raised in Nanticoke, Pa., was a graduate of the Brooklyn Hospital School of Nursing and then worked at the hospital for a number of years before raising her family. Madelyn enjoyed cooking and, in her later years, she worked part-time as a caregiver. She enjoyed her family and was always available to assist any family member in need. Wife of the late Neil D. Beezer Sr., she was the mother of Ann Geisendorfer of Guilderland and Neil D. Beezer Jr. of Old Saybrook, Conn.; grandmother of Steve Geisendorfer, Jeff Geisen-dorfer and Katie Beezer; sister of the late Eleanor, Joseph and Henry Okarma; and niece of Anne Rushin, 97, of Nanticoke, Pa. The family would also like to thank the nurses, aides, doctors and staff at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital who provided Madelyn with comfort, compassion and dignity during the last days of her life. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial Mass that will be celebrated at 10:00 o'clock on Thursday, July 31, 2008 at St. Madeline Sophie Church, Carmen Rd., Guilderland. The family would like to thank her caregivers, especially Pam, Malina, Cassandra.
