Anne Plaske

Plaske, Anna (Anne) LATHAM, N.Y. Anna (Anne) Plaske, 96, passed away on Saturday, July 26, 2008 at Our Lady of Hope Residence after a long illness. Her family was at her side. Anne was born in Albany, N.Y. on June 1, 1912. She was the daughter of Bernard and Helen Maleski of Albany, and sister to five siblings all who have predeceased her. She was the wife of Leonard B. Plaske Sr. and beloved mother of Leonard Paul Plaske Jr. Anne graduated from Albany High and in her early years she studied art. Once married, she lived in Schenectady on Lishakill Road in Colonie Township where she raised her family and contributed to the family vegetable and garden farm. She was a member of St. Paul's The Apostle Catholic Church in Schenectady and St. Clare's in Colonie. After raising her family, she worked for many years at N.Y. State Dept. of Tax & Finance in Albany and later as a volunteer at Our Lady of Hope. Anne enjoyed cooking and loved tending to her flower and vegetable greenhouses. She was truly devoted to caring for her family and grandchildren. She was the loyal mother to Leonard Paul Plaske Jr and the loving grandmother, who will be greatly missed, to Lisa Motto and Michelle Pirolo. She is survived by her son, Leonard P. Jr. (wife Sharon), Lisa Motto, Michelle Pirolo; and three great-granddaughters, Amanda Plaske, Lauren Motto and Carly Motto. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Anne's love for life, compassion for others, kindness and sense of humor will be missed by all who knew her. The family would also like to thank the staff at Our Lady of Hope for all the years of love and care to Anne. Their kindness has never gone unnoticed. Thank you. Family and friends are welcome to attend the wake which will be held on Monday, July 28 from 5-7 p.m. at Our Lady of Hope in Latham. The funeral Mass will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 29 at Our Lady of Hope in Latham and the burial following the Mass at Memory's Garden Cemetery in Colonie.
