Paul Condon Obituary

Condon, Paul J. COLONIE Paul J. Condon, 85, of Colonie, passed away on Sunday, July 27, 2008 at the Inn of Community Hospice at St. Peter's Hospital. He was born and educated in Albany and was the son of the late Perry and Helen Owens Condon. Paul served in the US Army during World War II. He was employed with Sealtest, Red Star Local 294 and retired from Albany Institute of History and Art. Paul was a member of the Colonie Elks for over 40 years and a longtime parishioner and usher at St. Clare's Church. He was predeceased by his wife, Lorraine A. Burgess Condon in 2001. Paul is survived by his daughters, Lynn Condon of Colonie and Nancy Zampella of Rotterdam; his grandsons, Aaron Zampella and David Markes; his siblings, Helen Calivlo of Long Island, Betty Mannering of Los Angeles and Perry M. Condon of Colonie. Several nieces and nephews also survive. He is loving companion of Janis Smith. Funeral services will be Thursday morning at 8:30 at Newcomer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave) then to St. Clare's Church at 9:00, where the Mass of Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 216 Osborne Rd., Albany, NY 12211 in memory of Paul J. Condon. I remember when I was younger how funny & sweet your dad was to everyone, but especially the children that were around him. When our parents would get together either at your house or Aunt Jeans & Uncle Joes or our house it was ALWAYS a PARTY!! I miss those times so much! Especially since now, they are all no longer with us. We PRAY that GOD BLESSES all of you especially now & always! You are in our thoughts & Prayers and always in our hearts!
