Ellen was a great person and great teacher. When I first started working with her she was more then happy to show me the ropes. Always quick with an answer and never shy about saying what was on her mind. She will be greatly missed.

To Ellen's family:
Please accept my sincerest apologies for your loss. I worked with Ellen at SUNY. In fact, she's the reason I'm here today. She supervised a senior level course I took and hired me as a temp upon my graduation. I miss her strong personality and great sense of humor. Even after I left ITS, I still stopped by often to see her and catch up.
My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I'll remember Ellen as a dependable and dignified colleague, problem solver, and passionate advocate for her IT clients. The folks she provided service for loved her for this. I'll also remember (and share) her love and affection for dogs. Many of us will miss her.
My sincerest condolences to David, Amanda, Michael and Matthew.
Respectfully,
Felix

David John and family,
Even though time and distance separated us over the years I have always thought of you as my brother. How tragic that Ellen was taken so young and how wonderful your memories must be. I can remember her smile and still hear her laugh from our last visit so many years ago. I can remember how she thought it was so funny when Vesta and Olive would call out "David John David" when they wanted us. It's truly the little things that stay in our minds. When I would call and Ellen answered we would share stories and end up laughing over the dumbest things but laughing nonetheless. Sometimes I would forget that I called for you.
Please know even without steady contact over the years that I loved Ellen as your wife and as the mother of your kids and the hole in your heart will get smaller with time.
I love you Dave and I feel your loss. I suppose all the usual tidings of Ellen being in a better place are nice but the best place Ellen ever was, was in your life.
Extend my condolences to your kids and please don't hesitate to call.
May she rest in peace and perhaps knowing that, is where you'll find peace at this time.
Take care my dear friend
Love
John, Susie and Caitlin

To Ellen's Family-
I was extremely saddened to hear the news of Ellen's untimely passing.
Ellen was a colleague of mine in UALbany ITS and our desks were right next door to each other. We talked dogs often.
Our Golden, Brodie, is a son of Madison and thus one of Ellen's gifts to the world. He is a wonderful dog and we think of Ellen often when we play with him, and he snuggles up to us.
I hope you all find peace at this difficult time. Ellen touched us, and we will always remember her very fondly.

Dear Dave,
Marah and I were deeply saddened to hear of Ellen's passing. She was a truly wonderful woman, and she will be missed tremendously. In our 47 years of friendship, I have always felt you were one of the lucky ones, to have such a loving wife and family for all these years. I can not imagine your sorrow at this very difficult time, because it seems so unfair. I just hope you find some comfort in all the great memories you have of your life together. You and Ellen will be in our prayers.
