DeRosa, Thomas Michael NEW YORK, N.Y. The family and innumerable friends mourn the death on Thursday, July 30, 2008 of Thomas Michael DeRosa, 71, of Stuyvesant Town, N.Y., N.Y. Tom is survived by his children, Margaret (Ken) Stevens, Thomas DeRosa Jr.; his former wife, Joan DeRosa; his grandchildren, Chelsea and Andrew Stevens; his brother, Francis DeRosa; his sister-in-law, Susan; and other relatives in the U.S. and Ireland. His second wife, Nancy, died in 2001. Tom was deeply committed to his work as an official with the Local 1070 of DC 37, AFSCME, AFL-CIO. He was a devout Catholic who served as a Eucharistic minister and as head usher at St. Patrick's Cathedral, Immaculate Conception and St Andrew's, all in New York City. He was the president of the Catholic Court Attaches Guild and a member of the Knights of Malta, the Knights of Columbus and the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick. A community activist, he was affiliated with the Jefferson and McManus Democratic Clubs. Funeral services will be Monday, August 4 at 8:30 a.m. from the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street in Hoosick Falls. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:00 a.m. from the Immaculate Conception Church on Main Street in Hoosick Falls. Burial will follow the Mass in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hoosick Falls. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. A Memorial service in Manhattan will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to either the Immaculate Conception Church, 414 East 14th Street, New York, NY 10009 or St. Andrew's Church, 20 Cardinal Hayes Place, New York, NY 10007.
