Janina Kowalczyk Obituary

Kowalczyk, Janina LOUDONVILLE Janina Kowalczyk, age 85, entered into eternal life Friday, August 1, 2008 at home. Born in Weibenfels, Germany, she was raised in Lipnik, Poland. She was employed as a seamstress at Albany Felt Company for over 20 years. She was a communicant of the former Church of St. Casimir as well as a member of its altar rosary society. Daughter of the late John and Franziska Gieda Pawlik. Beloved wife of the late Edward Kowalczyk; loving mother of Edward J. Kowalczyk of Loudonville; also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held in the Lasak & Gigliotti Funeral Home, 8 Dudley Heights (Northern Blvd.), Albany Monday morning at 8:30 and 9 o'clock at Holy Family Parish. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may also call at the funeral home Sunday 4 to 7 p.m. Interment in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie. Those desiring may send a remembrance in Janina's name to American Diabetes Association, 7 Washington Avenue, Albany, NY 12205.

What a brave and indomintable woman, who was always smiling and made others smile. God preserved her through the war, found a home for her in the US with friends, and provided a husband and very loving son. God Bless her.
