Gertrude Carlson Obituary

Carlson, Gertrude J. BENNINGTON Miss Gertrude J. Carlson, 84, formerly of Latham, died on Thursday, July 31, 2008 in Bennington, Vt. Born in Latham, she was the daughter of the late Harry D. and Gertrude Foose Carlson. She received her education in Colonie schools and was a graduate of Albany High School. Miss Carlson resided in Latham for most of her life, moving to Hoosick Falls in October of 2001. She was employed, as a clerk by the former State Bank of Albany during the 1940s and 1950s. A member of the Newtonville United Methodist Church, she was predeceased by two brothers, Harry W. Carlson and Howard D. Carlson. She is survived by nine nieces and nephews and several grand-nieces and grandnephews. A funeral service, for Miss Carlson, will be held on Thursday at 1 p.m. in the Bowen Funeral Home, 97 Old Loudon Road in Latham. Interment will follow in the Albany Rural Cemetery in Menands, N.Y. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Thursday, prior to the service from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Contributions, in memory of Miss Carlson, may be made to the Newtonville United Methodist Church, P.O.
