Evelyn E. Carolus

Carolus, Evelyn E. MENANDS, N.Y. Evelyn E. Carolus, 93, passed away on Monday, August 4, 2008. Born in Troy, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Emily Snyder. Mrs. Carolus was a resident of Menands for most of her life. She was a graduate of Troy High School after skipping two grades of elementary school. Evelyn was a receptionist at Tougher Plumbing & Heating in Menands for many years and worked as a bookkeeper for H. & R. Block. She was an elder, treasurer and longtime member of Bethany Presbyterian Church, treasurer of the Senior Citizens, treasurer of the Menand's Library and treasurer of the Menands Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. Evelyn enjoyed bowling and was a loving and nurturing mother. She was the beloved wife of the late Walter J. Carolus. Evelyn is the devoted mother of Walter A. Carolus and his wife Joan of Ocean Isle, N.C., Phillip K. Carolus and his wife Nancy of Cohoes, and Warren J. Carolus and his wife Ann of Malta. Also surviving are four grandchildren and many cousins. In addition to her husband, Evelyn was predeceased by her brother, Albert Snyder. Funeral services will be Friday at 9:00 a.m. at New Comer-Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Avenue). Calling hours will be Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Albany Rural Cemetery, Menands.
