Bennie Mazzone Obituary

Mazzone, Bennie REXFORD Bennie Mazzone of Rexford passed away at age 95, Tuesday, August 5, 2008 at Ellis Hospital after a short illness. Husband of the late Frieda Ann (Fay) Mazzone, Bennie was born December 12, 1912 in Washington, D.C. He was a truck driver for Old Colonie Transportation for 25 years retiring in 1975. He was a member of the Teamsters Union Local 294 and was shop steward for 25 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed working on old cars and trucks and he loved his dogs. Survivors are his son, Richard Frederick Mazzone of Vischers Ferry and his daughter, Dr. Fay Mazzone Spargo of Troy; one sister, Genny Leach of Colonie; and his grandchildren, Arwen Fay Spargo, Ariel Fay Spargo, and Glenn Sheey and Kristy Jennings. Calling hours are Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at the Catricala Funeral Home, Inc., 1597 Rte 9, Clifton Park and the funeral service will be Friday, 10 a.m. The burial will be in Vischers Ferry Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Catskill Animal Sanctuary, 316 Old Stage Rd., Saugerties, NY 12477.
