Wendy danced in and out of my life more than thirty years ago where we both attended college together in northern Wisconsin. We were close. One day she gave me the book "Be Here Now," a Zenn meditation on the importance of being present and fully engaged with the both the lovely, heart-breaking and especially ordinary moments that unfold before us every day if we pay attention. Wendy always paid attention. I can appreciate now what a rare gift that is and that is how I'll always remember her--laughing, dancing in bare feet on the dew-heavy grass in the early hours of an ordinary day.

Dear Jim,
I am so sorry to hear news of your wife's passing. Although I never met her, it was obvious to everyone who knew Wendy that she was a truly special person whose immense gifts were matched by her generosity in sharing them with others. Her life is an inspiration to all of us. Also, we will miss you at BOCES.

Dear Jim and sons,
I did not know you, but I knew Wendy. I met her 9 years ago at Unity Church study Group for A Course in Miracles. She was one of the sweetest people I've ever known and she always had a smile on her face. I didn't learn of her passing until today because I no longer live in the Albany area. Our mutual friend, "Nancy" called me. The news just stopped my world and my hear aches for your loss. I talked with Wendy on the phone shortly after I moved to Kingston, and shortly after she learned about her cancer re-occurence; She was so upbeat as always. I learned she knew the area I moved to very well, particularly New Paltz. She promised to make a trip and visit sometime with Nancy, but she never made it. I am so sorry about that. I hope she will visit me now, and I shall look for her in my dreams. God Bless You.

Dear Jim, Matthew and Christopher;
It brings tears to my eyes to read these beautiful notes regarding warm memories of Wendy and how Wendy touched lives of others. She was a remarkable individual. There are no words to express how sorry we are to learn of Wendy's passing. Although we have not had the opportunity to be around Wendy very much, during the times we were with Wendy, it was obvious what a caring and loving person she was. Her face glowed with happiness.
May God pour out many blessings to you and the boys, and may He ease your pain. Jack and I will keep you in our prayers. Susan (Repass) and Jack Harrison

Dear Jim,
I feel so sad that you lost your wife and best friend in life. Though I never had the pleasure of meeting her, the love and joy you had was evident every time you mentioned her name (which was quite often). She clearly was a beautiful presence in this world and that gift will surely live on in everyone who knew her. That kind of dynamic is contagious. Still, I think of you and your family with great sadness. I cry as I write this. Please reach out when the time is right.
Your dear friend,
Camille

Dear Jim and Family
I was deeply saddened to hear of your loss. My thoughts are with you and your family. May you take comfort in knowing an angel is watching over you and the boys. Although no words can really help to ease the loss you bear, just know that you are very close in every thought and prayer.

The words of Wendy's obituary captured her so completely that while I read them, I could see her smile, feel her warm friendly presence, and sense her joyful exuberance. I have no doubt that she did touch everyone she met. Though we didn't get a chance to connect often, when we did, I always felt her strong generous spirit and her complete lack of judgmentalness. I am so sad she lost her battle with cancer. She was surely recruited by heaven to be an angel, just as she was here.

Dear Jim and boys, Paul, Kraig and I send our deepest sympathy. The 3 of us plus all of our classes at BOCES will always have a wonderful picture of Wendy in our minds of her doing the star lab, going to the Great Escape, doing CIMS projects with our class, helping Dee with the pond animals and I could go on and on. She has been such a positive role model for all of us. We will never forget her and keep her close in our hearts as we do the 3 of you. God Bless all of you and we are always here for you.

I knew Wendy from Course of Miracles. She was a true seeker of truth. In our discussions or arguments about the course she used to bringinsights and illumination that would transend any confusion. I will truly miss her in our study group. However, I beleive she will be in spirit guiding our group to higher spiritual levels.

Jim, Matt and Chris...
I have just finished looking through my photo albums from Slingerlands Nursery School days. I knew I'd find a picture of Wendy with her hiking boots, fanny pack and wispy hair. My heart was so heavy and I needed to soak in that image of her. Sure enough, there it was...a beautiful picture of smiling Wendy. She always had a smile that was warm and kind. She taught me to have an appreciation of nature with the kids at school. She also made Evan a yummy banana milkshake that he'll never forget when he came over to play with Matt.
My family sends prayers and thoughts of a beautiful woman inside and out. We are so sorry for your loss.
