Jennie Meineker Obituary

Meineker, Jennie C. GUILDERLAND Jennie C. Meineker, 95, died Sunday, August 10, 2008 at Our Lady of Mercy Life Center in Guilderland. Born in Knox, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Elsie and Jacob May. Jennie worked at St. Peter's Hospital as a registered nurse for many years, retiring in 1978. She was a communicant of St. Lucy's Church and a former member of the Helderberg American Legion Post #977. Jennie was a faithful member of the Altamont Sr. Citizens. She is survived by her two sons, John (Lorraine) Meineker of Tampa, Fla. and Paul (Linda) Meineker of Schenectady; her former daughter-in-law, Patricia Meineker; her granddaughters, Kelly and Susan Meineker; great-grandchildren, Kevin Kyle, Cameron and Connor Smith; and her sister, Pearl Kelley of Altamont. She was predeceased by her husband, Alfred Meineker and her granddaughter, Mary Jo Meineker. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Lucy's Church, Grand St., Altamont. Friends may call at the Fredendall Funeral Home on Thursday from 4-7:30 p.m. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery. For those who wish, contributions in Jennie's memory may be made to the Altamont Sr. Citizens, P.O. Box 245, Altamont, NY 12009.

Dear Linda, Paul and Susie,
I was so sorry to hear about Jennie. Even though I had never met her I felt a bond with her through our shared experiences. May all of your wonderful memories help you through this sad time. You are in my prayers.
