Charles E. Kelly

Kelly, Charles E. DELMAR Charles E. Kelly, 87, died Tuesday, August 12, 2008 at St. Peter's Hospital after a long illness. Born in Albany, he was the son of the late Charles and Grace (Schreiner) Kelly. Mr. Kelly was a graduate of Albany High School and received his bachelor's degree from Union College in Schenectady. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. Mr. Kelly worked for the NYS Civil Service Department as a labor relations negotiator for 30 years, retiring in 1982. He was a member of the Colonie Lodge of Elks, Nathaniel Adams Blanchard American Legion Post #1040 and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He is husband of 62 years of Dorothy (Miller) Kelly; father of Tom (Hedy) Kelly of N.J. and Jim (Terri) Kelly of Ind.; grandfather of Chrissy, Mike, Abbey, Jessie and Pat; brother of Donald and Lawrence Kelly and Barbara Seebode. He is also survived by his stepmother Genevieve Kelly; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. in the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, 490 Delaware Ave., Albany. Interment will follow in Memory's Garden, Colonie. There will be no public calling hours.
