Mary R. Davies

Davies, Mary R. GHENT Mary R. Davies, 75, of Ghent, died on Thursday, August 14, 2008 at Albany Medical Center Hospital. She was born in Albany on August 25, 1932, the daughter of the late Franz and Hedwig Volkmar Rogg. Mary was a longtime Albany area resident before moving to Ghent. She had been a member of the Slingerlands Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and a volunteer with the Bethlehem Reserve Police. She was predeceased by her husband, Elwood E. Davies; a sister, Eleanor; and a brother, Francis. Survivors include three daughters, Phyllis Davies, Pauline Graziano and Doris Nieves; three sisters, Barbara Rapp, Hedy Biance and Teresa Rogg; a brother, Joseph Rogg; and seven grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Saturday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Applebee Funeral Home, 403 Kenwood Ave., Delmar. A memorial service will follow at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
