Paula Morrissey Obituary

Morrissey, Paula TROY Paula (Fedorchak) Morrissey entered into eternal life on August 14, 2008 surrounded in love by her family. She was born in the hamlet of Maplewood on July 12, 1924, the loving daughter of the late Marko and Paraska Kaschak Fedorchak. She was pre-deceased by her beloved husband of 56 years, Richard T. Morrissey, on August 23, 2007. Paula is survived by her loving children, Richard T. Morrissey III, Attorney-at-Law of Troy, N.Y., Robert Mark Morrissey and his wife Debbie of Alpharetta, Ga., and Christine Carol Snow and her husband Gary of Clifton Park, N.Y. She adored her grandchildren, Jacob Richard Morrissey of Troy, N.Y., Abigail Joan Morrissey and Benjamin Mark Morrissey of Alpharetta; and her daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Gonzalez Morrissey of Durham, N.C. She will be dearly missed by seven brothers and sisters, Metro Fedorchak of Maplewood, Peter (Carol) Fedorchak of Troy, Julie (late Emil) Elsner of Albany, Madge (Sanford) Ten Eyck of Albany, Dorothy (late Wasyl) Mokey of Watervliet, Helen (late Walter) Kelly of Maplewood and Joan (Michael) Batza of Albany. Her cousin, Anne Beeler and her family of Albany, also survives along with many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews and many wonderful friends. Paula was predeceased by her beloved siblings, brothers, Andrew, John and Paul; sisters, Christina Shagalski, Mary Minczak, Anna Spiak, Sophie Rench and Lillian Demrick. The Morrissey family extends a heartfelt thank you to the Troy Fire Department and EMS team for all of their help when called upon and to the kind nurses and aides at the Albany Medical Center and the Van Rensselaer Manor. We are grateful to Julaine Clarke for her assistance and loving care given to our Mother as well as to Carolyn, Gail, Jean Ann and Patty. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 20 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Basil's Russian Orthodox Church, 21 Archibald Street, Watervliet, N.Y. Interment will follow in St. Basil's Cemetery. Friends and relatives are invited to call from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, August 19 at the Parker Bros. Memorial Funeral Home, 2013 Broadway in Watervliet. Parastas service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Those who wish may send memorial contributions for the beautification of St. Basil's to the Church Restoration Fund, 6 Lansing Avenue, Watervliet, NY 12189 in memory of Paula Morrissey. Her memory and the gift of a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister and aunt will be etched forever in our hearts.
