Dominick DeMichele Obituary

DeMichele, Dominick GLENVILLE Dominick R. DeMichele, 66, of Saratoga Rd., on Sunday August 17, 2008 died at The Inn at St. Peter's with his family by his side. Dominick was born in Utica, N.Y., the son of Dominick J. and Josephine DeMichele He was a graduate of Linton High School. He attended the Junior College of Albany and completed the real estate program at Russell Sage College. From August 1964 to August 1969, Dominick served in the NYS Air National Guard and received an honor graduate certificate for accomplishment in still photography from the Lowry Air Force Base Technical Training Center. Dominick was a trainer for the Prudential Real Estate firm and was very proud of the relationship he had with the company. He retired in 1996 as regional business consultant for Prudential Real Estate. Dominick was a member of the Schenectady and Saratoga County Realtors. From 1978-79, he served as president of the Saratoga Co. Board of Realtors and in 1979 was chosen as Saratoga Co. Realtor of the Year. From 1987 - 1988, he served as president of the Schenectady County Board of Realtors and in 1988 was chosen as Schenectady Co. Realtor of the Year. He was well respected in his field and was a popular industry representative. Dominick was a generous man and loved being with family and friends. He enjoyed tremendously the atmosphere surrounding the Saratoga Race Course and looked forward to the opening day of the track season. He is survived by his mother, Josephine DeMichele of Schenectady; his sons, Keith R. DeMichele (Christine) of Glenville and Mark C. DeMichele (DeAnna Tope) of Glenville; his former wife, Laurene DeMichele; his grandson, Nicholas DeMichele; his brothers, Robert (Pam) DeMichele of Maitland, Fla., William DeMichele of Albany, N.Y. and and his sister, Beth DeMichele Sheppard Cogdill (Phil) of Tuscon, Ariz. Dominick was predeceased by his father, Dominick J. DeMichele. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 21, 2008 from the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd., East Glenville. Interment will follow in St. Anthony's Cemetery, Glenville. Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, August 20, 2008. The family would like to thank Ellis Hospital, Sunnyview Rehabilitation Hospital, Albany Medical Center and The Inn at St. Peter's for the care given to Dominick. Memorial contributions, in Dominick's name, are requested to be made to Community Hospice of Albany, 445 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY 12205.
